On Sunday the 28th of February, I did the Ironkidz for 2010. It was on the way into town.
I was in the cold lake first to participate in the 8 year old girls. The whistle went and I glided across the lake in about 3 minutes. Then there was more! I had to sprint to get my bike. I wiped all the sand off my feet with my towel and slipped my shoes on. Then I zoomed off along the road. It only took me about 2 minutes and 30 seconds to do that, but then there was still a run to do. I quickly gave my bike to a marshall and very tiredly wizzed off through the run and through the shoot. I got my medal and was glad it was over. It was awesome!

On Sunday we did the Taupo Ironkidz. In our groups we dived into the lake and swam to the other side. When we got out we had to run across the sand to the transition area to get our bikes. Next I rode my bike with my helmet on my head through town and back to the transition area. I took my helmet off and got off my bike ready for the run. Then I started the run, I ran around the corner and around the flag. Iwas coming towards the finish line and then finally I had finished! I was very proud.

What awesome recounts Megan and Sydney. You made me feel like I was in your shoes doing the Ironkidz event myself. That is becuase you used good personal voice.
I guess you have a real feeling of pride for completing Ironkidz. I do hope you enter again next year.

I watched the whole race and noticed Megan and Sydney battling it out all the way. Megan was 1st out of the water and Sydney was 1st back on the bike. There was only 20 metres in it as they left the transition area for the run. After they both stopped for drinks they took off again. Sydney pipped Megan by about 30 metres at the end of the run. Good racing girls, it was awesome to watch.

Did you really swim to the other side of the lake? That is what your writing said Sydney. I am glad you wore your helmet on your head it would look pretty funny anywhere else!! Well done on a good race
I love the Triathlon artworks! Very bright, what a cool site
